This weekend marks the closing of the 2012 Summer Olympics. We’ve been thoroughly enjoying this year’s competition and have been celebrating with a stogie in hand. In fact, we just finished watching the USA women’s team take the gold for football (soccer). Care to join us? You may not be a gold medalist, but hey, you are one heck of an aficionado. Pick up a gold worthy smoke this weekend and watch the last few games with us.
You can see the pride, loyalty and honor behind each of the nations competing in the Olympics. These athletes are proud to represent their region. You may find a different, yet similar enthusiasm among cigar smokers. Often times cigar connoisseurs will pick a region in which they enjoy a cigar and stick with it, standing behind it until the end. Okay, we may be exaggerating, but really when picking your next cigar figure out where it came from.
Cigar by Region
Where a person was born can say a lot about them, the same goes for cigars. When choosing a cigar noting where the cigar got its roots is of great importance to the palate. A cigar’s tobacco builds its flavor profile based on the soil, climate and technique specific to each region. Before picking up your next stogie, learn a little about the background of it and find similar choices from the same region. Need some help? Tony of Broadway Cigar suggests Honduran cigars while Jason of Broadway Cigar prefers Nicaragua cigars. Whatever you prefer, it is likely that you will be partial to other ‘gars from that same region.

We know you’ve seen the weather report for this weekend. We know because we’ve been watching it like a hawk, circling its prey. As it stands, the forecast is predicting 81 degrees of crystal clear sunshine.
We also know this most likely means that you’ll be taking full advantage of the warmer weather with a few puts on the green. We know this because it’s exactly what we’ll be fantasizing about while we hold down the BCC fort.
Since we’re on a roll here, we should mention that we know one more thing. We know that the only thing that could make a day like this purely perfect, is a pair of smokes to enjoy with your strokes. Stop by any shop before you swing in the sun and we’ll give you a free cigar when you purchase two Al Argenti sticks. If you’re not sure the Argenti smokes are on par for your weekend, here are a couple past reviews to get you lined up:
