Well, folks, we’ve done our best not to jinx the warm weather that made an early appearance in Portland this year. We’ve tried only to encourage the sun to stick around for our smokin’ events and long-awaited days on the greens. We’re hoping it’s here to stay, because one of our favorite local events, the annual Portland Rose Festival, is officially in full swing.

The City Fair, a long-standing tradition, kicked off last weekend at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Luckily, you’ll still have plenty of time to check it out. The fair is open from 3:00PM to 11:00PM today and tomorrow, as well as from 11:00AM to 11:00PM Saturday and Sunday.

So whether you’re planning on taking the kids, or a date, we’re fairly certain you’ll want to unwind afterward either way. Needless to say, we find that the best way to relax after a long day under the sun is with a good Broadway ‘gar and, well, an accompaniment. One that might, perhaps, wet your whistle.
