Choosing a Cigar: Lesson 5
You can see the pride, loyalty and honor behind each of the nations competing in the Olympics. These athletes are proud to represent their region. You may find a different, yet similar enthusiasm among cigar smokers. Often times cigar connoisseurs will pick a region in which they enjoy a cigar and stick with it, standing behind it until the end. Okay, we may be exaggerating, but really when picking your next cigar figure out where it came from.
Cigar by Region
Where a person was born can say a lot about them, the same goes for cigars. When choosing a cigar noting where the cigar got its roots is of great importance to the palate. A cigar’s tobacco builds its flavor profile based on the soil, climate and technique specific to each region. Before picking up your next stogie, learn a little about the background of it and find similar choices from the same region. Need some help? Tony of Broadway Cigar suggests Honduran cigars while Jason of Broadway Cigar prefers Nicaragua cigars. Whatever you prefer, it is likely that you will be partial to other ‘gars from that same region.
